Christmas Carol
Well I finally got to see this over this past weekend. I have to say that I was really looking forward to it, since I like Jim Carey, AND Disney did it.
This movie is visually stunning. There are moments when it looks so real it is almost scary. I think that Jim Carey’s parts are wonderfully performed. I do have to throw one caveat out there though, and it is this, this movie has a few moments that are down right SCARY for kids. My son actually screamed out loud at one point. Ok, sure it is the part with the ghost of Christmas Future, and we all know that that part of the story can be a little scary, but I think that people might go to this movie expecting a Disney “happy” story, and would be a little surprised to see that it is much more in line with the story itself. Other then that, I say go see it, maybe without the kids the first time, but definitely go see it. It was worth the time and money for me.

This is really cool, and I thought that you all might enjoy it!
Hey folks, I stumbled across this site from Disney that has an amazing video done with Tilt-Shift Photography. Check it out and enjoy! I know I did. Magic Kingdom in Tilt-Shift. Let me know what you think.
Also, just a little FYI, I took my son to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in 3D, and we both really enjoyed it. I have been told, that it is a children’s book, and I have yet to read it, so I can’t compare it to the book, but I will say that it is enjoyable. Go see it and let me know what you think. Also, if you have read the book and seen the movie, please let me know how they compare. Thanks!

Wednesday, August 5th
Today we headed out for the MK, but before doing that we had to do our traditional breakfast at Chef Mickey’s. We got to the resort, and I was a little perplexed when they didn’t give me that little piece of paper that they used to hand out for visitors to put in their windshields. I was glad to see this, as I hadn’t planned on moving my car anyway, and this made it easy. Breakfast was great as usual, but there was a slight change. The characters that are there now, are Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Donald Duck. Chip and Dale used to be here, and they were a lot of fun to watch because they were always playing with one another.
After breakfast, we headed up and got on the monorail. I was a little disappointed to find out that they are no longer doing the front car ride, but given the recent events, I can certainly understand. I was just really hoping to give Ryan (this is her first trip) a great experience. We got to the MK and off we went. First stop was Buzz for fast passes. After getting them, we got on Monster Inc. Laugh Floor Comedy Club (MILFCC for those that were wondering). We sent in a joke via the text service that they have, and it got used in the show! Ok, it is a corny one, but here it is: What did the wall say to the Floor? I’ll meet you in the corner. HA HA HA! Ok not really, but it got used. When this got out, we went straight across and did Stitch, followed by Buzz, and Carousel of Progress. We had a meeting with Buzz Lightyear right outside of the Carousel, and this is about the time that my camera bit the dust. Still not sure what happened, but it completely froze up. We left Tomorrowland, and headed for Adventureland. We stopped along the way to see the show at the castle, and I headed for the camera shop at the head of main street to see if they could help me. I met back up with my family at Cosmic Rays. Had a little to eat then ran off for adventureland, where we got our fastpasses for Jungle cruise, and then road Aladdin, the Tiki room and then we headed for Pirates. We walked on, and while we were just a few minutes from getting on the ride (there was a thunder storm going on) the power went out. So until the power came back on we stood in line. I almost wish that I was on the ride to experience the inside with the back up power on. Once the power was restored, we got on and besides the misted Davey Jones not working, everything else was fine. We got off the ride, and our son had decided that he wanted his face painted, and it was to be a cursed pirate. Off to the Pirate League. David, another exceptional cast member, did a wonderful job transforming our son into this cursed pirate, and again, I will be posting photo’s later. After this experience, we rode the Jungle Cruise which by the way, we had the BEST skipper I have EVER had on a cruise. Michael was absolutely AMAZING. I laughed the entire time we were on the ride, and this NEVER happens. Great job and Thank You Michael!! We walked over to the Pirates stage to try and get our son into Pirate training, and again we were successful. Evrett got picked to guard the stage, and then got picked by Jack Sparrow for Pirate training. I have to say that I think this could be a better experience, and that the Jedi Training Academy was by far a better show. Maybe have Barbosa come out at the end for the “battle” experience part of the show. Evrett had had enough of his face painting by the time that this was over, so after removing the face paint, we decided that he needed to get out of the sun for a while, so we headed over to Liberty Tree to try and get a table. Amazingly without an ADR we walked right in and got seated. Dinner was great as always, and Evrett was looking a lot better afterwards. From dinner we went over to the Haunted Mansion followed by It’s a Small World. Since we were going to have some extra time later in the week, we decided to call it a night after Amanda and Evrett rode Splash Mountain. Our timing was almost perfect in getting out of the park, but we got ahead of ourselves and caught the end of Spectromagic as it was coming out at the beginning of Main Street.
Tomorrow is Animal Kingdom in the morning and nothing at night as Evrett is getting a little punchy and needs to get a good nights rest.

Cool Firefox Add-in

- Image by Joe Penniston via Flickr
So, I stumbled across this add in to Firefox, and it makes your e-mails and blogging much easier by finding photo’s on the net and other nice touches easy. It is called Zemanta, and here is the description of their add in from their site:
Zemanta brings you extra content while you write. It unobtrusively recommends you images, links and articles, which enables you to write richer and more informative emails.
Zemanta will automatically switch on, the first time you will compose a new email message or a blog post.
The photo that is in this post was found by simply typing Disney into the box that is added to the dashboard, and allowing it to search. Then, all I had to do was click on it, and poof, there it is in my post. I like to pass on cool pieces of tech that I come across, and this is definitely worth the time to seek out and add to Firefox for all of you that use it. It will even work in Gmail and Yahoo! So far, I can’t see anything wrong with this add on, and I will be using it plenty when I don’t have any of my own photo’s to post, but want to add a nice picture to my post.
I thought I would add a few more, so here you go.

After the Move, and a little Disney Rumor. . .
So, we moved into my mom’s this weekend, primarily to save money so we can jump on the next house that we are in love with. We are also considering building a house, but we aren’t really sure what that all entails, so we shall see what happens.
I was reading a newletter that was sent out today by Chris Martin. He runs the “secret group of Disney’s magical theme park Cast Members & Guests” group over on Facebook. The rumor reads like this: “— STAR TOURS: As rumored, the rehab is about to start. And you know why? Because Tokyo Disney (Oriental Land Company) wanted their own version so they poured in some money. And George Lucas has been VERY involved. The new version sounds REALLY cool. Apparently, the original Star Tours was supposed to be updated every three years or so with a new film (ha!). So now, they’re creating a new 3-D film (yes, everyone will have to wear 3-D glasses). The new film will be set in the time between Star Wars Films 3 and 4 (so, after Queen Amidala’s death but before Luke finds Obi Wan and blows up the Death Star). But here’s the cool part — they’re saying that the ride will now have hundreds of versions, so guests will never know what they’re getting into….they’re going to film about 25 openings, about 25 middles, and then 25 endings, so your ride will never be the same…this is one way to make sure it stays fresh for MUCH longer. I can’t wait to see this.“ This got me to thinking about the ride, and how excited it made me to realize that the ride I have gotten sick of, is, or at least seems to be getting it’s long overdue makeover. I am so excited! I LOVE Star Wars, and my son does now also. The fact that 3D is mentioned as well as multiple beginnings, middles and endings, that can be mixed together so the experience is different everytime is amazing, and long overdue for these types of rides. Well, I would like to know what you all think so leave me a note, and I will respon back. Thanks for stopping by!
The Big Move
Well the time has finally come for us to begin to move forward. The first step, is moving into my mothers for a short amount of time. Namely so we can find a house and save lots of money. We may even consider building a home, if it is feasable. Other then that, I don’t have much to say right now. I am getting ready to try to rest for the rest of the evening, and as long as that happens, tomorrow will go VERY smoothly. If not, then it will be a rough day, but we’ll get through it. The biggest thing for me is to try and NOT get into a fight with my lovely wife. Everytime we have moved in the past that has happened. I am going to try my hardest to keep that from happening tomorrow. I should be able to write again come Sunday, so I will let you all know how things went. Chat then.
